Opinions anyone?
I have an opportunity to purchase an 05 Vespa PX (never registered, less than 2 miles) for the same money as a leftover 09 Stella. The Vespa is going for 4k,the Stella $3600 drive out. Is the 05 also an LML? Thanks all!

Re: Opinions anyone?
No, it's a real Vespa, made in Italy. Piaggio USA had recently consolidated all the old stock of remaining PX150s and auctioned them off to dealers. I understand a number of them wound up in Florida.catman2130093 wrote:I have an opportunity to purchase an 05 Vespa PX (never registered, less than 2 miles) for the same money as a leftover 09 Stella. I'd be a little wary of the condition of rubber parts, such as tires, hoses, boots, etc., on 6-year-old new bikes, and make sure the battery is OK and the carb is not gummed up from old gas.

Is it a 150 or 200?

I have an 05 PX150, as well as the Stella 4T
Given the opportunity to buy a new 05, I would do that in a heartbeat.
The standard of paint, fit/finish/instrumentation/electrics is much higher than the Stella.
Once these new Vespa shifty 2 strokes are gone, you'll never be able to buy them again. It really is your last chance to get this bike new.
The Stella 2T with the LML engine is similar but not the same.
The rubber etc on my 05 looks like new. If, if, the carb needs to be cleaned, then do it. Most prob it is fine.

I just bought a new 2009 Stella yesterday for $3000. I've seen them as low as $2800 in other states. If your gonna pay full sticker price you might as well wait for the 4t unless 2t is your thing. One thing about Genuine is that they have a good warranty and road side assistance program for a year on the Stella.
No experience with the PX.
PS Just realized your talking $3600 out the door. I only paid $220 in taxes so mine was something like $3200.

That's your call. If you have the $$ I say do it. Like I mentioned, you'll never get the chance again to buy a new PX Vespa in the USA.catman2130093 wrote:I just got the quote on the PX-$4400 out the door..
If you're not hung up on that, then the Stella 4T is also very nice and comes w/ a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty for the same $$.
The Stella 2T is also cool, but I would only get a new one of those if it was much cheaper than the new PX.

That might be a bit high considering some of the others available out there.catman2130093 wrote:I just got the quote on the PX-$4400 out the door..

also at 6 years old the tires are nood good and they need to be replaced before it goes into service
plain and simple the life span of a tire on a 2 wheel vehcile is 3 years you might be able to push it to 5 but thats pushing it
the rubber will dry up and get hard it wont have the grip it should and it can dry rot i dont care if its in a wearhouse or in a garage the enviromental factors are still there as is the age

The 200s are great, but were never sold (new) in the US. Many somehow made it into the country. I know of 3 or 4 in this area: one from Australia, a couple from Germany, one from who knows where. I've also heard some came up via Mexico.BuddyRaton wrote:Is it a 150 or 200?
