Leaky Gaskets and questions

Post by misterbrackets »

So, I need to replace the clutch cover gasket and I am wondering what is the best way to prep the surface.

Is acetone ok to use to get the gunk off? A gasket scraper?

Also, should I apply a thin coat of fresh motor oil to the gasket surfaces before installing? That's what I generally do, anyway.

Thanks
