and I had it serviced recently but I'm guessing it's raving to high?

What adjustment can I make to bring down the idle if that's what it needs?

What do you mean Slamming? Like, the loud "kaTHUNK" when you put it into first, but are holding the clutch? Does it basically want to go right away (so, a clutch cable adjustment is needed)?
