No gas in carb!

I had posted a problem with a friend's 2T. After it fell over, it wouldn't keep running.

I pretty much took everything fuel-related apart and cleaned it.

Still no luck. Then we got it running. Without knowing what the prob was.

LATER: Today, I replaced his carb float because old one was full of gas, and finally it wouldn't shut off the fuel- gas was all over the place....

Put it together, IT WOULDN'T KEEP RUNNING AGAIN :(

No gas in the bowl! The tank was full. I had just put on a new gas hose.

We finally vacuum-bled the gas hose. Big air bubbles came out.

I think that air gets trapped at the dinky gas OFF-ON-RESERVE valve. If the tank had run dry, for example. Once we did that, gas flowed again. So that's what you should check if you aren't getting gas at the carb.

Peace 8)

Fuel line should be 24 inches long. It's gravity fed so it should load right up. The usual move is to run dry, shift into neutral, flip to reserve, put in gear, dump the clutch and keep going!

Yup and I don't know why we didn't see gas pouring out of the hose. Only when we vacuum bled the line, it worked 8)
