Advice on changing engine pivot bushes on 2t

Post by milly »

Bit of play in mine, do I need to drop whole engine out to change them or is there any tricks with just lowering it a bit or does it make life easier dropping it.
Many thanks in advance.

Not sure if I understand your question but.....

I’ve never had to replace the bushings but I have removed the engine before. It’s a pain to remove but good practice and once you’ve done it a couple of times it’s an easy process - just time consuming.

To get to the bushes you have to remove the main pivot bolt. There’s also a bushing at the rear suspension.

I imagine it would be a hell of a lot easier to just remove the engine. You could give the engine a good cleaning at the same time.
