Anyone running a Pinasco 177 big bore on a Stella?

Post by Houseoffubar »

Hello, I bought a very cheap 05 Stella yesterday.
It has a big bore kit, that appears to be a Piasco 177.
I don’t know much else yet, but it runs awful. Starts and idles, but wont pull past mid range and tops out at a sputtering 40mph.
I did a proper plug chop and it looks pretty good.

The carb is still the 20/20. I cleaned the jets, but did not note what size they are. I will correct that today.
Any ideas?

Can you contact the previous owner about it? What did they tell you about it when you bought it?

Unfortunately, I bought it from a guy who only had it a couple months, and did not like it, so sold it to me.

Did you ever figure anything out? I have only had 2 scooters, but compared to my 50cc Minarelli this 177 seems a bit anemic. It has been suggested to take a look at the porting in the case and possible open it up a bit.
