Because I'm keenly interested in small motorbikes and because there are a lot of articles in English online, I follow the Indian motorcycle market pretty closely. Click Here for an interesting article I found yesterday comparing the Honda CB350 v RE Meteor 350 V Jawa 300.
Enjoy!

Really the Royal is overrated. Sadly underpowered. Honda CB350 - what are you thinking vintage?? The new 2021(if it even comes to the USA at all) is going to be pricey and IMHO with the cast wheels just doesn't have the right look. Jawa looks to be really heavy and underpowered. After looking at bikes for months I finally got the Svartpilen 401. At 43 HP almost twice the power. At least to me, the power and performance is really important. Not to mention features like the quick shift, ABS. Handles like a dream and its light.

I don't think we ever even discuss anything that will keep up with Svartpilen 401. Maybe the RE 650 twins.
I agree with you about the Himalayan. Even with $1,000 in engine mods, its hard to pick up 5 more hp. I just like the vintage styling of the Hima.
The CSC RX4 seems to offer a lot for the dollar.

I just read where the Meteor 350 has been named "Motorcycle of the Year" in India. I guess they do not have a lot of freeways there.
