Quick simple questions about this Blur thing
I'm looking to become a cliche and step up from the 50cc realm this year. I like the looks and everything I hear about the Blur. The used prices look right (though none in my vicinity so far this season). But, never having seen a Blur in person, I've got a few questions for you lucky folks, just in case a craigslist bargain comes my way:
1. Does the blur have the underseat pegs that the Buddy has? My scooter is my main source of transportation (bicycle being secondary), so carrying capacity is important, and I enjoy not having to buy too many luggage items to make that happen.
2. At 5'6", 30" inseam, would I have issues?
3. Should I just stick it out another year and wait for Genuine to decide that we really do want these scooters (and/or the 200 version) and will buy them as soon as they give us the chance?
4. Any other notes for the potential buyer are appreciated, I've skimmed the forum but not comprehensively.
Thanks.

1. Yes, it has the helmet hooks or grocery bag hooks.. depending on your needs.
2. I don't think 30 inseem is that short.
3. No, you should just find a nice clean one and get it. (see below)

5. I'm going to sell mine, I just made a deal on a motorcycle today. I love my Blur, it's been a blast to ride, but just feeling like I want something that will get me on the highway. Located in California, Santa Cruz County.

Haha, thanks Racenut. I definitely wish I lived out west, if only for the highly-active market that seems to be the norm out there. Hoping something will magically pop up a little closer to the midwest... if I had the type of job that allowed me more than a day or two off at a time, I'd be tempted to fly out and ride back. I also may want to wait about 56 days, after which time I will have a garage (yay!!!).Racenut wrote:

yeah, the pegs are there and the underseat is at least as big as the Buddy, it can hold most fullfaces no problem.
Also, there are a lot of MC tank bags that fit nicely in the center channel on top of the tank, poke around the forum, i have a Givi one I love and it fits perfectly.
I'd keep an eye out for used ones and jump if you see a reasonable deal, but I still wouldn't be surprised if the Blur makes a comeback, I think there are a lot of people like you that are looking to step up to something a little more modern and sporty, and Genuine is losing some of those people to other brands. Dunno if that means a 200 or what, but it's a decent seller in other markets and maybe its time will come...
My wife is about your height/inseam and she likes to ride it, but it's maybe a hair tall for her...

right up under the seat next to the hinge on either side.
That is unless you got one of the "special" Blur's. I can't view pics at work, otherwise I'd post a link to a pic. I'll try to find one later.

I/we have HJC modular and AFX full face lids and neither of them comes close to fitting in the Blur. Without being side by side I would say the Buddy is slightly larger but I dont think the wife's helmets fit in it either.illnoise wrote:yeah, the pegs are there and the underseat is at least as big as the Buddy, it can hold most fullfaces no problem.

but the hooks work fine for temporary storage.

Modulars are usually a good deal bigger than a regular ff. But I've had a few different xl ff helmets and my wife's hjc L modular and they all fit. I'm sure there are some that don't.
Ha I didn't know what those pegs were for until a year after I got my blur.

I stand corrected - yesterday I was posting from memory, probably memory of the TGB. I checked both helmets in bot scoots today and everything fit. there's not much room in the Buddy with the HJC SyMax unless you stuff the helmet. the Blur seemed a fraction larger but it was full with either one. but they DO fitbabblefish wrote:That's strange. I have a HJC Sy-Max modular helmet (medium) and it fits with room to spare under the seat of my 2006 Blur.
I usually have enough loose crap in there already that I use the hooks anyway

Helmet Hooks / baghooks.
My guess is the two plastic posts under the seat are to take seating loads to
reduce pressure on the seat hinge. My helmet strap wouldn't reach the post
so I removed the "pet carrier" and bolted in a webbing strap to go through the helmet "D" ring and an eyelet in the strap to go back over the bolt. Works well and is handy for those shopping bags as well.

Ann Arbor isnt too far from the Blur I am selling if you havent found one yet. Its already tastefully modded and has a Givi E30 case with backrest already installed and included to more than double your storage capacity, plus its super easy to remove for the days you know you wont need it. Its got enough miles on it to be properly broken in, and has had first service done already, but it has low enough miles that its still practically new. I bought a Suzuki M50 motorcycle since most of my riding is 2-up now and the Blur just wasnt cutting it for us. If you have a means of transporting a scooter (small flatbed and 3 or 4 tie down straps), you could come pick it up and be home before dinner!
