My poor Blur. Wrecked by the wife.
Called the local dealer to see if we can scrounge up a front fairing. I'm hoping there is no structural damage, but without a fairing it isn't drivable. The front turn signal lights are hanging out.
Anybody know if I'll have any luck getting the part? The local dealer is fairly new and didn't know what a Blur was.
Ugh.

There's 3 parts there that are damaged. You should be able to get them in, but it'll be a while.
With an impact like that make sure that the forks aren't bent and the steering bearings are in good shape.

Wow... where the heck are my manners.. How is your wife? Hopefully she's OK. I guess I assumed that since the main concern was about the Blur that your wife is fine...

My wife had just gotten her MC permit about 3 days ago. I had asked her to go to the basement garage to measure the tongue height/width in order to get one of those raise/lower trailer wheels. She decided she was going to scoot down.
She wanted to do a small circle on the first floor garage driveway before heading down. She then proceeded to miss the turn and instead went forward to the next door neighbors driveway and hit the back of the neighbors minivan to the tune of ~$1200.
I'm guessing she went into a fright induced failure to think. I'm guessing that she neglected to release the throttle and apply the brakes. She wasn't really in the mood to recieve educational feedback the night of the incident.
My wife should be ok. I don't think she could have been going to quickly given the distance involved.

Glad to hear she's OK. That stinks about the minivan, though.
Let us know how it goes with getting the parts.
When I was waiting for some of the panels to come in for mine, I had some luck (it didn't look pretty of course) with gluing the cracked panels back together with some plastic epoxy.
There's also a touch up spray paint made by Duplicolor that's almost a dead ringer for the gray on the Blur.

My thoughts exactly. Ay least some of those pieces look like they broke cleanly, rather than shattered. You might be able to make a pretty good job of it, as Lostmycage suggests.Lostmycage wrote:When I was waiting for some of the panels to come in for mine, I had some luck (it didn't look pretty of course) with gluing the cracked panels back together with some plastic epoxy.
Good luck.
