decal removal and changing your graphics

Post by blurblaine »

I thought this was discussed, but didn't find the thread...

I removed the Blur decals from my '06 and was wondering not only who has done this, but have you added any graphics? If you have changed the graphics, then share a picture!

I'll be adding some stripes soon and will then add a picture.

I've removed all the orange decals except for the Blur name badge on the rear left below the seat. It will probably go soon.

The easy way to remove decals is to soften the adhesive first with a blow dryer.

I removed all of the original stickers and will be adding these. I also painted the Orange Black. The New El Presidente!

They're are printed on reflective vinyl. (The white is reflective)

Where are you having them printed? Locally?

Im trying out these guys: Speedysigns.com

$8.00 per decal + a $20.00 one time set up fee. They seemed to be the cheapest. Im printing 5 decals.

Other companies quoted me anywhere from the $8 above to $300 and a minimum print of 100 decals.

I've been "planning" for over a year... ha. But, yeah. I've got reflective checkered stripes on the Vespa and would like something custom for the legshield. For the Buddy, my wife & I really want to do something big & special and have tossed around ideas, but have yet to decide on a look or theme. (This is also why it takes us a year to select a piece of furniture, ha.)

Added some stripes today. All are 1/2" reflective tape in white and orange. The Orange is true 'Blue Orange', but the flash makes them look yellow on the pics.

Not meant as a tribute to Adidas or D-Day aircraft, but I like the look.

Good? Bad? Just different.

I think it looks great - definitely an upgrade :D

Where did you get the reflective tape, did it come striped or did you have to get those stripes so nice and straight and parallel manually?

Thanx for the kind words (so far  )

The tape is from: http://www.streetglo.net/reflective.tape/

All applied using the 'eye' method with no pre-marking. I kinda had an idea what I wanted and just did it. The line around the Genuine decal was the only 'on the fly' inspiration as I thought I needed more up front.

Also did a bit on my helmet as shown below.

As stated before, I'd love to see what other have done, so add some pics!

Thanx,
