I've ridden my Vino 125 for 1 1/2 years. It's an excellent, reliable scooter, perfect as a starter machine.
Now I'd like to upgrade to a higher performance scoot. I've read a lot here and elsewhere about the Blur. I even took a short test ride, which I enjoyed. The Blur is obviously a very nice machine. I'm sure it would allow me to tackle some of the higher speed roads that I ride with ease.
However, much of my riding will be in the city. Is the Blur well suited for that? I don't mind a firm ride but what I want to know is if the Blur is easy to maneuver at low speeds. With its small wheels and upright riding position, the Vino excels at that sort of thing. U-turns are very easy, for example and I can come to almost a complete stop without putting my foot down.
I expect that the Blur might not be quite as maneuverable at low speeds as a Vino but that it would be fine once mastered. It is a scooter, after all, and it's not that big or heavy. That's just speculation on my part, however. I wouldn't want to buy it and realize that I've made a costly mistake. So for you Blur owners, is the Blur relatively easy to ride in the city?

I ride it in downtown Seattle a lot, and I've found it to be almost as maneuverable as my old Rattler 110. The Blur isheavier, but it still turns very deftly, and its big advantage is its ability to quickly accelerate away from traffic snarls.
YMMV, but in my opinion the Blur makes for a perfect urban commuting tool.

Yup, it's a great flexible scooter. You can ride in a very docile manner, just cruising along, and then hammer the bejesus out of it on a curvy road or onramp and really scare yourself (but the bike is fine). I ride it nowhere near its capability on a daily basis and love it, slow speeds or high.

I always find myself disapointed when I get to either home or work, because the ride is just over toooo soon, and I don't get enough acceleration and speed thrills due to the city commute!

more seriously: I came from a honda metro, which is tiny and can fit through *anything*. I've found the Blur is really darn maneuverable, more so that I would have expected, and it handles great.

Things are a bit more wide open down south, where I live now.
The Blur sounds like a lot of fun and I'll probably have one soon. Then again, I may wind up with a Vespa 300 GTS. It's a different kind of scooter but also nice. Expensive though.
