Remove Blur Tank Cover?

Post by Rush »

Anyone know how to remove the tank cover on the Blur?

I purchased a replacement keel cover (original got a hairline crack) but I need to remove the tank cover. I've got the seat out and the two screws and tabs at the rear of the tank cover (just below the seat) but I can't figure out how to get the front part of the tank cover off... not sure if I need to remove the tank "lid" and collar as well.

Thanks!

From my very foggy memory:

Remove the two side panels (the orange on the 06 Blurs) and that should show you the remaining screws for the center section.

In addition to that, open the gas tank and turn the plastic trim piece counter clockwise then pull up to remove. The tunnel cover should come off after you do that.

I think you're right about that, but then my memory is more like a smoke screen. :|
