HELP! Has anyone adjusted valves on Blur 220?

Trying to adjust the valves on my Blur has become more difficult than I thought. I can not get the vavle cover out, or enough out of the way, to adjust the lower tappet.
I read the great how-to in the technical section but that was on a Buddy which looked much easier to access.
If anyone has some advice I could sure use some.
