Bryan, Chicago +1=3

For what it's worth, mine's an 06. We should all list our VINs so we can see how big the import batches were. (don't list your VIN, I'm just joking).

I have one '07 here in San Francisco. I'm sure there are other Blur owners here, but I've yet to come across one!

It's actually nice to feel unique :)

Count me in with an '06.

Just took delivery on Saturday, and ran the battery down to zilch trying to get the thing to start on Sunday. Spritzed some gas into the carb throat and kicked it to finally get it running, but the idle's rough. Looks to be a gummed up jet, and, as icing on the cake, the idle mixture screw was out 4 1/2 turns instead of the recommended 3 1/2.

So, the scoot's in the garage, the carb's on the bench, and I smell like an oil refinery.

I'll probably have this straightened out in a day or two. Just hoping my '80 Pinto hasn't been reincarnated as a Blur.

Wow, Charlie,
if it is a new scoot you bought from the dealer, why not taking it back and having them deal with it?

EP:

Well, the dealer's a good 40+ miles away and I have no way of transporting the scoot. Even though I can eventually get it to start, I still don't have the registrations/plates/etc., so driving it there isn't an option either.

For what it's worth, I really don't place much stock in warranties anyway, unless we're talking something in the league of a thrown rod or cracked piston. I've been doing maintenance and repairs on all my vehicles and power equipment for many years and this looks to be a pretty straightforward fuel system problem. Besides, it's a great learning opportunity.

(Truth is, if it's a matter of tearing down a carb or repainting a room for the umpteenth time because Her Majesty isn't quite sure that she likes the current color, well, you do the math)

Well whatever you do, don't tell the dealer you messed with it. They will use it as an excuse when future things come up.

Veni, vidi, vroom.....

Cleaned the carb and plug, buttoned everything up, then gave it a few kicks to get the gas flowing. Coupla tweaks on the air and idle screws and it's running as smooth as silk.

Now if the damned DVD/VCR had a carburetor, maybe I'd be able to get it to work too.

BTW, I was in Indy last week. Twice - once out in Speedway and another time near 16th and Talbot (doing the art show there). I saw guys riding their scooters on the sidewalk? WTF?

Finally picked mine up this morning from Scooterville in Minneapolis,MN. John was fantastic to work with, will definitely recommend him for any future business. Guess that makes me an official #19! On a side note, I spent all day driving around Lake Calhoun / Lake Harriet. What a great first time ride! -Chris (Tyrjin) Minneapolis, MN :D

I got my 06 Blur (because I happen to like orange) in Tucson back in Feb, but new to the forum. Am I #20 then?

About to move it to Memphis, TN. Anybody around there?

I just purchased an '07 Blur from ScooterNerds.com in Greensboro, NC. I think that might just have been the last one in a dealer on the east coast given what folks have been saying here.

This will be a fun experience as this is my first powered two wheel vehicle. The shop owner was nice enough to let me drive it around a Shriner's lodge parking lot to try it out. It was loads of fun!

Now I just need to go get that pesky permit taken care of before the Blur gets delivered on Wed. :D

Wish me luck!

there's also some guy I've never had the chance to speak with who lives down the block and has an '07 (copycat! ha) so he can be 27.

Fargo/Moorhead Blur - #28

Post by pajeanka »

Hey, guys,
I'm posting for my hubby because he hasn't gotten into MB yet, but maybe he will now. Yesterday he picked up his new '07 Blur at True Imports in Chicago on his way home from a business trip. He got home last night and today we gave it the once over and I even got to take it for a short ride this afternoon. I can see why you all love these Blurs!
I'm almost 100% sure that he'll be the only Blur in the Fargo, ND & Moorhead, MN area. We are really looking forward to riding scoots together both individually and two up. So you can find Blur #28 cruising the upper plains. Oh, and a big shout out to GFridrich3 for helping us find our Blur. Thanks man! 8)

I'll jump in as number 32 or 29 depending on the count. Anyone have any idea how many of these Genuine imported?? Obviously a lot of people might not know about this board but are we talking 100 Blurs in all of America or 1000?? Be interesting to know.

No idea how many, but I'd imagine there'd have to be some sort of minimum order to make it worthwhile to customize/homologize/ship/support it. I'd guess at least 500 06s and 500 07s.

I asked one of the Sportique shops in Denver how many Blurs they sold and they estimated 12 or so of the '06 and '07s combined at that location. I've never seen another one on the road though.
