Which exhausts fit Rattler 50?

I am searching for an exhaust for my Rattler 50 and a guy from Scootertronics said only a Prima exhaust will fit the mounting brackets and exhaust port.

Is this true?

I would rather have something quieter than the Prima but still performance oriented.

It's the only one I've seen so far that's guaranteed to fit. However, I've never searched for one using PGO's model number instead of Genuine's.

have you run the Prima? folks have said that they find it quite loud but that has not been my experience. It's not quiet but all the stock motorcycle exhausts I've ever heard are louder than the Prima pipe on my Buddy 50.

For straight bolt on with zero modification of any kind. I think that's it. If your not shy with cutting and welding, then you may have dozens to choose from. Lots of pipes for the horizontal minarelli. 50cc 2t. Not sure that anything would be any quieter though. 2t are loud from all the powa. :D

I ordered a Technigas Next R Chrome. One of the websites said it fit plus SteveK put one on his RH50 so I am confident it will work. Also ordered rollers and a spring.

Hey Brian, I actually put on an RS-II Chromed. I went with the 70cc kit so I wanted a 70cc pipe. I believe the Next-R is the same mounting wise. You will need to pick-up a couple bushings and flip the mounting bracket to the outside of the mounting flange. No cutting or welding is required though.

Tecnigas is the only pipe mfg that lists the Roughhouse....besides Prima.

That is good to know, regarding fit. We definitely need more options than just the Prima. I wanted a Leo Vince ZXR but could not get confirmation on fit and they are out of stock.

Full evaluation will follow.

Prima is a COMPLETE waste of money IMO, the quality is terrible.

I also have an RS II it is built MUCH better than the Prima, sound, performance, chrome quality/ rust resistance.

I received my Next R exhaust last night. Have to wait until tomorrow to install and test. It looks awesome! Was hoping it would be lighter though.

This exhaust does not fit. Going to send it back.

It always amazes me how much effort goes into making something that doesn't work. Sorry buddy.

What bothers me is that it is advertised to fit the Buddy and Roughhouse. Do I have a different engine?

The 50cc came on the Rough House, BlackCat, Rattler, PMS, PMX... maybe more. I have no idea what the differences are. I'd call the place and ask. They may have just shipped you the wrong part.

A friend of mine will take a look at it Sunday. A fabricator by trade. Said he could make me a bracket.

Don't waste your money on a Prima Pipe.

I had a Prima. It made the scooter LOUDER and lighter, but not significantly faster. The neck of the exhaust where it attaches to the engine broke and I had it welded by a friend before going back to stock. Gave the Prima away. I talked to the owner of San Francisco Scooter Center. He has sold many of this model and reports several prima exhausts have broken, so it sounds like a common problem. Be prepared to fix it when it breaks.

My Prima pipe was so loud, I had pedestrians turn around, point to there ears and give me the middle finger! I have a 110, so it's likely louder than the 50 and your results may vary. Just my experience.

I like loud exhausts when I go to the race track. On public roads, they are just annoying and make the non-riding public hate us that do ride, IMHO.

I have the Prima bolted up to my bike. It fits!

The expectations were for a much louder exhaust but to be honest, it isn't that bad and I ride with ear buds.

So far the top speed gains haven't been realized but I just got the bike back from it's first service and it is barely getting out of it's own way. Maybe they put in too much gear oil and it has too much drag on the drivetrain?

Going to put in the lighter roller weights in a little while.

If you had too much gear oil it would come out of the transmission weep hole... and onto your rear tire. So, you'd know it was overfilled to say the least

Still not sure why it hasn't had it's normal pickup but i installed the rollers and it is moving better. Still a flat spot at an indicated 25mph until it hits 39mph then gets on the pipe and goes to 45 to 53mph indicated depending on conditions.

I think I want the NCY transmission parts. My stock stuff seems to be sticking some.

Do you think it's a transmission flat spot of a carb flat spot? It is still possible it's hitting too high of a gear before it's in the powerband, or it's getting too much fuel and bogging down. I'm not going to even guess what weights would work best in the 50.

sometimes it will rev out and stay on the pipe and accelerate fine but it does have that flat spot at high 20's through high 30's mph. On a slight uphill it will pick up then slow down, pick up then slow down. Not sure if that is carburation or transmission.

When I first take off when then bike is cold(after letting it warm for a while) it rides the higher rpms and flies.

I think I may get some lighter roller weights and see how that affects things. Also plan on modding my airbox for more air.

Did you ever change the spring? You might want to try a contra spring that engages at a higher rpm. Just a thought

I just changed the spring today and went to 6 gram sliders. No longer have flat spot in middle but I am past the powerband until 25mph or so. Going to try heavier sliders if I can find 7's.

There is no free lunch with CVT tuning, everything must be in balance for optimum performance.

As a general rule, if you go to a heavier spring then all other things equal you'll also need proprtionally heavier sliders/rollers.

I have tried 6 gram sliders, 6.5 and 7 gram rollers and now am trying out 6g sliders and 6.5g rollers combined. Not liking the factory clutch pin/slot design as it is not linear and locks the pulleys into taller gearing even when slowing. It is also what necessitates that heavier spring in the rear.

The roller/slider combo seems to work well. More responsive. Not sure why scooterworks sells the exhaust, roller, spring combo. Seems the 5 gram rollers would be too light for my application.

Maybe they had extra 5G IN THAT SIZE
