2009 Roughhouse Malossi Carb Throttle Cable

Post by louie427 »

I bought an after market carb for my 2009 roughhouse from scooterworks . It is a 19" Malossi carb. The problem is after 1000 miles my throttle cable broke. The local scooter shop said there is no elbow on the carb side of the cable and it is in general about 4 inches too short. The cable has no give and will continue to have this problem unless I give it some more room to not be so tight. I need a cable the is approx. 66" long. The current one is 62". I am trying to find a replacement throttle cable with a 90 degree elbow on the carb end that will work so I can go out and ride and enjoy this beautiful weather.

Update on Throttle Cable and Malossi Carb

Post by louie427 »

I had the most difficult time finding a longer throttle cable for the RH50 that would fit the new carb. I did however find the following parts, which I am told by both Dellorto and the scooter shop, will work.

The first is a 90 degree elbow:

And the second is a long cable adjuster:

I am waiting for these parts to come in and see if they will truly be a fix for my short throttle cable problem.

I will update when I find out!
