First Gear Oil Change

Post by tbswope »

I have 195 miles on a 2014 RH50 and I didn't feel like paying $100 bucks for something I can do. I know that the purpose of the first change at 200 miles is because the oil will most likely have metal shavings from the new gears wearing into each other. My concern is how much should be there. I have read posts where people say their oil looked like new and I feel mine looked like used oil with gold glitter in it. Would it be best to run another 200 miles and change again looking for it to be all cleared up? I hope you can tell from the picture but it was hard to get a good one. Literally it looked like gold glitter.

It wouldn't hurt to check it again in a few hundred miles. Most of the "break in" wear should be done at this point.

It uses so little oil, why not. Its not gonna hurt the bike to change it too often.
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?
