Battery

I may be needing a new battery.The Roughie starts good when kicked. If I go for a ride, 7 or 8 miles, and shut it off, if I try the starter within a minute or so, it cranks over fine and starts, but if I let it sit an hour or two, it barely will crank the thing over. So, assuming its my battery, are there any specific batteries/ brands that are much better than others, and what are the bad ones to stay away from? Thanks
I do need to check my batteries warranty, I think its only 6 months old, but sat for three months over winter not on the tender.
