Fellow Rattler owners, I have noticed that the gas gauge on mine gets to empty pretty quick and bounces in an out for a while.

How many miles have you guys pushed it after it blinks no more bars. I drove it 5 miles the other day like that because I couldn't find a gas station. I am just wondering so I can get comfortable when it is like that.

Mine does that too. I think i drove like 6 or 7 miles with it blinking. I was pulling a "kramer" (for all you seinfeld fans) and drove until it ran out of gas. I ended up pushing that thing like a mile to a gas station....ha

So I almost ran out...I was very nervous, I was in deliverance country and it was raining. I would not have liked to run out.

yeah, same here.....i've put about 4 or 5 miles on it with no bars, usually without realizing it. hehehe...luckily there's a gas station every 5 miles or so here in town so i've been lucky.

i ran mine out one time. it died at 80 miles almost exactly. i usually fill up at 70 miles and thats about 10 miles of blinking. where i live, i have to do a lot of wide open riding. my ride to work is 16.5 miles round trip and i would say that 13miles of it is wide open

Well the thing is, the stupid fuel level sensor is obviously a floating one, since the fuel levels fluctuate between uneven inclines or while taking off.
I tend to look down to check the fuel every stop light if I can, and I fill up right when the last bar is out. Fill ups at this point are less than a gallon, so I suppose there's quite a bit of reserves at zero bars.

My Rattler 50 reads empty after using 1 gallon (NO bars)
I THINK its a 1.4 gallon tank - so i guess that leaves .4 gallons in the tank
that would be about 30 miles for mine.... but I am a chicken & fill it up when the bars are gone.

so I've only filled up twice and my gas gauge is broken... I can get it to move by tipping the scooter, so I guess the float's OK. Any suggestions other than a trip to the dealer?

Hello,
This is bothering me too. Yesterday I took the gas cap off and, with a long screw driver movved the float all the way to the bottom and let it go back up a few times and afetr that it worked fine.
