What are we supposed to learn from this that is not in the Rattler manual?

The rattler manual has the speed calibration in it?

I tried following instructions, but they did not work for me. I don't know if they lock it somehow. I wish we could calibrate it, I don't mind the 10% difference, but I would like to know and not do the math all the time.

Has anyone had any luck re-programming it?

i wouldn't be surprised if the mode button has been disconnected.
rather than redesign the outside to meet PGO's spec for the gauge they change the guts

The manual says the button is disabled - maybe there's just some small sticker that disallows the connection of the buttons contacts.

No, but if youre looking for accuracy, there isn't a motorcycle for any amount of money available with an accurate speedo. Plus the "sender" on the Rattler is sealed, which appeared at first blush to be one of the calibration elements?

You'll make yourself crazy trying to pursue that, better to mount a GPS if you really want accurate speed/distance reads.

If there was a way to tune it using the method from the manual it can be done. Its just based on tire size and RPM's. So if its running 10% high, if you increase the wheel size in its calculation by that much you should be accurate.

The cops around my house are Nazi's, I can live without it, but I like to know and I look all the time. And my opinion is they should get it to work, its like false advertising if they say it goes 55mph and it really only goes 50 (and they just tune the speedo to what they want).
