It's a 1979 P200E, I just cleaned it up a bit so I figured I'd snap a couple pics to share:

Reeeeal good. Smooth shifting too, I LOVE IT!!!

Only thing it needs is a new center stand. And a new rear tire, but it just so
happens my spare Shinko whitewall & tube that was on my Buddy will fit! 8)

Schweeeet Krusty!

A note on the center stand...if you can afford it, go for the stand with the little foot thing like on the Buddy. I have the plain one and it can be a chore yanking it up on the stand. Oh, and the little rubber booties wear through almost immediately. I got the plain one 'cos that's all my shop had in stock.

Enjoy the shifting!

A friend of mine is gonna sell me one of his extras for cheap. He's got like 8 disassembled
scooters in his house. Mostly small frames though, but he said he has one that's for a P.

I'm so excited, I can't wait to get the tag & title paperwork taken care of so I can REALLY ride it.

Stella, Vespa P200... I got the P200 because it was way cheaper AND has a bigger engine. 8)

Hey, I told ya I was seriously considering it, and you were cool enough to wait & see
what I did. I really appreciate it man, I love this scoot! But if the word on the street is
accurate, you already had something up your sleeve to begin with... :shhh:

Congrats on the scoot! No you'll know the dilemma ... "Do feel like tearing it up TnG-style or do I wanna shift it up old school?"

Think you'll stop at two scoots?

Yeah, I have a feeling I'll be using the P200 more this winter with that nice wide legshield.
But trust me, they will both get ridden. Especially since my dad loaned me some money
for it and so I told him he could ride whichever one I'm not riding. Anyways, I think 2 scoots
are enough (for now), like etak said I got the best of both worlds! I couldn't fit another one
in my scooterport if I tried!

Yeah, I know... it doesn't have walls yet. ...or doors.

That aside, sweet ride :D

:+!:
we're adding another to the garage tomorrow - a Honda Metropolitan for MrsBuzz to keep at the beach 8) .

Sometime around the end of the month we'll be closing the cottage for the winter and the 50's are coming home to snuggle with their siblings in the garage. We have a 2 car garage which held 2 cars and 3 scooters last winter - it was a tight fit and took some juggling to get the Burgman out on weekends but everything stayed warm and dry. This season we have added Mrs' commuter and now her 50 to the list so my Magnum gets moved to the driveway and the elements. Mrs has already put her foot down about keeping her Civic in the garage cause she is driving when it gets cold and wet. A sacrifice I'm willing to make since I rarely drive either car anymore and truth be told she'll be driving the Magnum whenever there's snow or ice on the roads - the Civic sucks in bad weather. I have yet to winterize any scooter, so now I'll have a different one to ride every day of the week - gotta keep 'em all healthy!

are there battery tenders that service multiple batteries at the same time? I have 2 now but I'm gonna need at least a couple more.

My only battery tender is called "commute rotation". Someday its going to bite me in the butt but so far so good.

Sure you could. Just back the third one in between Buddy and P.
Krustyburger wrote:But if the word on the street is accurate, you already had something up your sleeve to begin with...
Yeah, and I promised to get rid of one or two in order to do it. But now when I look at them in the garage I think, gee, I don't wanna get rid of that or that one either. Its a tough decision. I might have to give in and say its ok to get another cat. Right now there are more animals than humans at my house. :(
Maybe I can get away with just selling the Ruckus. Its harder than I thought it would be to get rid of any one of them.

That is one good looking scooter!!! Any mad painting ideas in the future? We all know that you can't help spiffing up your ride. :D

Nice find Krusty, looks like it's in really decent shape too. Well done!

Thanks, it's the original engine too! I haven't been able to ride it all weekend (tag office closed). not to mention
I severely burnt the bottom of my kick-starting foot! ...and I'm still sanding the rust off the centerstand my friend
gave me. It will probably be another week before everything is set to go.

It's alright though, at least in the mean time I can try to get most of the grime off it and tinker with stuff. I already got
plans for the paint. I haven't decided for sure, but there just aren't that many colors of metallic Rustoleum.

Now you claim the burn is from a soldering iron, but I suspect that a George Forman Grill was involved...

uh, visitors? ...I don't get those. And if I did I might be so gracious to let them sit on one. I let my dad ride the Buddy, but not the P200.
I think mainly because I have only ridden it a couple times on my street and once on the actual road.

Dude, that thing is beautiful!! Just be careful. I have a 2 car garage and both of our cars are parked outside. Once the bug bites, it can get kinda out of control. It's like taking in animals. Someone says, "he just needs a good home" and next thing you know you have a bunch of motorcycles and scoots, and a pet hedgehog who bites you because you smell like gas.
err... maybe that's just me.

I don't know, looks like there's room for one more in between the two you already have, just move them a tad toward the outside walls (or where the walls will be when you build them) and you can fit another in there in between them no problem! 8)

Could get 4 in there if you orient them 90 degrees the other way!

Yes perhaps, but it's getting them back out that's the hard part! Honestly there is just enough space to get on & off one without knocking the other over! I don't think I posted about it, but I've been working on sprucing up the P200 this winter so hopefully it will be ready for spring (Big Easy Weekender babay!). Anyhow, if anyone's interested, I started a thread on Modern Vespa about it. Hopefully we will get some decent weather soon, I have only been working on it a little on the weekends so progress is slow.
