Took the wife’s scooter for ride today – pictures

Post by rajron »

Rode up to Sandia Peak, when I started out this morning it was around 65°F but at the peak it was a chilly 49°F by the time I got back home it was 72°F, barley any wind except through Cedar Crest, hardly a cloud in the sky it was great day for a ride.
The road to the peak is great, very twisty well cambered and smooth – speed limits are very low at times 20 mph for multiple radius turns and hairpins, but, there was hardly anyone on the road so I went as fast as I dare, never really scrapped anything but it was thrilling to scoot around all those turns free and not held up by any traffic – during winter the road will ice up, and there will be salt and gravel for traction but not today.
The main difference between my scooter and hers are the paint jobs, and her seat is softer, my 300 (my other ride) has more torque and would have helped going up some sharp curves otherwise same same.
Here are some pictures:

If you happen to take this trip, drop by Tinker Town – they were closed for the season when I went by: http://www.tinkertown.com/

To give a brief idea how eclectic Tinker Town is:

If that hill wasn’t there we might see Santa Fe, over 50 miles away
