New Seat

Post by Shox »

so I had a new seat made for my wife's buddy for Christmas. Then I got jealous and had to have one made for myself. Just got it back yesterday. Really happy about how it turned out.....

Sweet! So give us some details. Who did the work, etc etc?

the work was done by a furniture/upholstery guy here in Houston. He's also a scooter guy so he does seats as part of his work - David Groomer. My wife's seat is here on the gallery page under the title "christmas gift". He charged me $250 for my wife's seat and $350 for this one since it was more work. I took the idea from a custom vespa seat I saw on the web. As you can see, he re-shaped the back part of the buddy seat. I wasn't sure how it would come out and it surpassed my expectations. Here's a pic of the inspiration:

It has a little more padding due to the reshaping and slope in the back. It does feel different since I can't really sit on the back part of my seat like I used to. Also, the stock seat has more grip on the butt due to the type of material used.

oh my gosh I LOVE IT - thats like the exact type of seat I want eventually on mine. Something more casual looking and less sporty I guess? Theres something about that I love.
