Scooter Photo Scavenger Hunt Week 10: Scooter Golf

Post by ScootLemont »

Scooter Photo Scavenger Hunt Week 10: Scooter Golf
Aug 1st – 7th

4pts - You scooter at a golf course
(yes miniature golf courses & driving ranges count and so do Frisbee golf courses) – Frisbee golf courtesy of orangeguy & he offers this link http://www.pdga.com/course/index.php
No fake “back yard” golf courses, or you golfing on a baseball field, or anything like that – if it is not obvious in your photo (and it should be) that it is a real golf course, please provide a link to their website, or at least the name & location of the course.

Bonus Points
3pts - If there is a gopher in the photo (real or fake) (a GOPHER – NOT gopher from the love boat, NOT a squirrel or any other animal, not a photo of a gopher, not playing cards with gophers on them)
2pts - If you are in the photo (your entire body & scooter – helmets are ok if you are shy)
3pts - If you are wearing plaid pants Edit - or shorts
1pt - If you are holding a real golf club (not a toy club – putters from miniature golf are real clubs & they count) (if you are at a Frisbee golf course, you can take a point if you are holding a Frisbee – but no points for Frisbees at regular or mini golf courses)
1pt – if you are the first to post a qualifying pic this week

Note: everyone PLEASE do your best to take photos that CLEARLY show all of your bonus items in your original photo.

PLEASE do your own math & include you point total with your submission!!!! (if you don’t include your points, you don’t get them)

General Rules for every week:
-A new photo subject added every Friday. Participants will have until the following Thursday to post their pic (taken that week)
-Only one photo may be submitted by each member for each week’s subject. (but if you get a better pic later in the week, PLEASE edit your original post note that you posted a better pic and note in the newer post that it is a replacement for a previous pic.
-Old photos you have lying around can NOT be used- they must be NEW photos taken the week the photo subject was posted
-10 BONUS POINTS (good anytime all summer) for a photo of you getting a ticket (photo must include your scooter & a cop writing the ticket) only one of these may be submitted per player. (Thanks to kazoo for the suggestion)
(Edit – you don’t have to be REALLY getting a ticket… if you can get a cop to pose like he/she is writing you a ticket, that is good enough)
-No Photoshop submissions
-Prize? Sure, if we can figure out a way to do that, but the real prize will be bragging rights & all the fun we all had all summer.

Scooter Photo Scavenger Hunt!
What is it? - Every Friday a new photo subject is posted in gallery forum & it will be your job to go get a photo of your scooter with that subject.

When is it? - It was started May 30th & hopefully will run it all summer, finishing up Labor Day weekend. That will give us 14 photos to get.
Who? - EVERYONE is encouraged to participate, the more players the better! Some subjects will be easy & some will be more difficult. Some might be impossible for some people but do your best & participate when you can. Don’t worry if you didn’t get in at the start... just jump in anytime!

If anyone has any suggestions for photo subjects or on how to make this more fun, please post up or PM me.

Here is a link to an index of the previous weeks as well as the weekly videos

I suppose I should be upset, even feel violated, but I'm not. No, in fact, I think this is a friendly message, like "Hey, wanna play?" and yes I want to play. I really really do.

This is TOOOOO easy.

If I were anal I'd already have the first point, but I might as well let someone else get that because I have to go find a gopher and then I'll have all the points in hand.

YAY!

Here's one of the sites I work on - and the tournament happened just Wednesday....SADLY. So I won't have photos from that to use.

Here's how the email with my girlfriend just went:

Me: here's what we have to do in this week's scavenger hunt.

G: Do you have plaid pants?

Me: I can get some. What I really need is a gopher.

Will someone please call the guys with the white coats to come get me? I'm sitting here wondering how I'm going to get a gopher.

Yikes!

saddly there where no gophers in the traps this morning so you'll have to deal with stuffy

4pts - You scooter at a golf course
2pts - If you are in the photo
3pts - If there is a gopher in the photo (real or fake)
3pts - If you are wearing plaid pants
1pt - If you are holding a real golf club
1pt – if you are the first to post a qualifying pic this week
14 points

edited (again), because my math was fine, but my reading comprehension could use some work.

Um, isn't that you in the photo? If it is, I think you have overlooked 2 more points.

Nice pic! :D
But you're gonna be ahead of me again. :(
I really need to go get a ticket...

Not trying to start anything ... honest ... just don't see the gopher. Is it hanging on your mirror?

Nice pants, btw.

I think so. If you zoom in you can see it better. It's just at a bad angle for the shot.

This started out to be a(nother) goof pic: me in full gear, teeing it up near the practice green at this neighborhood par 3 course Fiesta Lakes Golf Club.

I decided it would be best to let the person in the clubhouse know what I was going to be doing, just so that he wouldn't come at me with his trusty 9 iron, or call the cops. I enter the clubhouse, and begin to explain that "as part of a scavenger hunt I need a picture of my scoot at a golf course, with me in it, so I'm going to tee it up over there, but I'm not going to hit or anything."

He says "What kind of scoot?" Followed by "You wanna have some fun with this?" He doesn't know me from Adam, but he's owned a bunch of motorcycles. And is just a nice guy.

So here I am on the first tee at Fiesta Lakes, a course I'd never even played, but will now. I was so excited about him allowing me to ride up the sidewalk to #1 tee that I forgot to make sure that it was completely obvious I was on the tee. But you can see the far side tee marker just by my left foot.

God I love the Scavenger Hunt!
Image

Oh, I almost forgot:
4pts - You scooter at a golf course
2pts - If you are in the photo
1pt - If you are holding a real golf club
= 7 points.

little OT but do any of our players think putting "Scavenger Hunter" after your scooter model in your profile is a good idea?
Kind of like the idea of the Red Buddy Club logo in the signatures, but not such a big flag.
I just thought it might draw more attention to the hunt + you should all be proud of your photos & the effort all summer!
anyway... I added it to mine (look left)
Just thought I would throw that out there.

Added it to mine with some help for the short-bus scooterists out there who might need a little direction.

[OT]

SANTRO-PEY and Olivemusic ... are you at Anna Page Park? I've played there once. Nice park. A group of us are making the trip again here in a few weeks. We play 5 courses heading up, camp for the night and hit 5 courses the way back down. Sadly, it's not on the scooter. :(

Yep, that's Anna Page Park! Honestly, I don't know much about the course, but I do know that it was super busy today when we were taking our pictures! You can't tell from the pictures but there was a constant flow of frisbees! :)
