iGoogle theme request (NDirectlySR)

Post by Quo Vadimus »

C'mon, you scooter people are big nerds, right? Surely one of you wants to make this for all of us to enjoy!

All I do when I'm at the computer is fantasize about riding anyway - why not have a visual enabler to *really* keep me from my schoolwork? :D

I have nothing to do today... and I use iGoogle so maybe I'll like my 1st enough to use it myself

I'm not real geeky on programing languages so this may take some time
I don't do much modding on the scoot anymore, just riding :-)

I'm totally spun around, no clue what they're talking about... anyone here know XML language?

I can take care of the images if someone else can write it?

We should get together and make a "Modern Buddy" theme. Maybe try to incorporate a small weather box you could put your zipcode in? Maybe pair it with a Modern Buddy gadget that would show the newest posts?
Like I said, my brain is swimming from trying to figure out this XML stuff, but I'm happy to provide images for the project.

I don't know xml... although I know it's fairly simple *and* we may be able to copy most of someone else's if we can find another theme we like. Sadly, with work and school time is my least available resource right now.

I was simply thinking of some good rotating scooter pics... your inclusion of actual scooter-related info is so much better! Now, how to incorporate the road-rage warning meter into the mix...

This topic is from months ago, but I really dig the idea and there are now so many new MB members..... Any takers out there? I would totally dig a scooter themed IGoogle and I KNOW I'm not alone....

The coding is actually straightforward. You don't need to know XML, just need to know how to format your info the same way theirs is.

I have too many other projects to take this on now, though. :)

Also, I already miss the spartan simplicity of Google classic.

Ah, but Eric! You have the choice to use Google classic! I'm a bling-lover myself  Maybe I should try to make up something myself!

I know, but when iGoogle alpha launched, I couldn't resist adding a theme, dropping in feeds and widgets, adding tabs… and pretty soon it was the ugliest, messiest portal on the planet.

I think he posted several options before he chose that one, maybe even a long landscape one? It is just inspiring.

I dig the ones that change with the local weather and time of day - well, the change of weather doesn't really seem to work, but I appreciate the new pictures every few hours :) I obviously spend too much time on the computer when not otherwise busy....
