1st cosmetic improvement............

This was the first move to begin the "personalization" of my Buddy 125. I was surprised at how easily the logos came off!

Fine, I'll say it. "Buddy" is kind of a lame name for a scooter. ;)

Blech. Sounds like the name Phil Caleb's son came out with. Or someone was a fan of the "Chucky" films.

We have other names like :
Ruckus
Zuma
Metropolitan
Rattler
Blur

All good names.

then there's Buddy.... ;)

I'll admit. I'm embarrassed when i have to tell people what the name is. I at least leave on the name so people don't think its some lame chinese scoot.

I took the badges off mine as well, a long time ago.

I never really liked the font, though I have come to terms with the name Buddy. It is what it is, and as stated already, it's way better than BuBu.

I removed my stickers, cut the '125' part off and stuck one just below
the speedometer and the other on the front below the headlight.
I threw the 'Buddy' part away.
I don't really like that name. Better than Bu Bu -but not much.
When asked, I tell them it's a Genuine. :)

I like what someone on here did, removing their Buddy badges and putting on "Italia 150" decals in a nice font. I might make "Genuine 125" decals like that for mine. :3

It could be a lot worse... Genuine could have used really bad inch tall stickers like the ones used on the cheap Chineese scooters. It's nice seeing a JCRUEU49X, in all of it's Chineese smoke spewing glory coming down the road. Half the letters peeling at the edges because the stickers are not ment for outdoor use, just like the vehicle they are somewhat affixed to. I wonder what the rider tells people when that ask the name?

I don't really like the name Buddy myself, but it was enough to get my wife to want ours... I think if the scooter had a less friendly name she may have looked elsewhere. I am dead serious about that, had it been called something like BuBu she would not have wanted it. Odd how names trigger something in a person's mine.

I will say that Genuine at least put a touch of effort into the badge design. It could be uglier...

I have to admit that I sometimes hear a certain "my buddy and me" tune when I'm talking about her. Thanks, 80's!

Generally, though, she's either just 'my scooter' or Daisy. If someone wants to know the make and model, they're also going to end up knowing what makes the Buddy so fantastic.

In Australia, its "Bella." Which is much better than Buddy or BuBu. Problem is, Bella-Stella. No good for a product lineup.

LOL

As has been said, it is what it is. And we are all Buddies. I do like how easy it is to play on the word Buddy, but I still say it's a lame name.
My sig quote is directed at some on this forum that form clubs based on what color the scoot is. Bunch o' damn racists.
WE ARE ALL .... GENUINE!!

Ohhh, I like that better. Need to change my sig.

Agreed Bubu is WAY lame.

+1 !!

"genuine" is great, in a wholesome way. "buddy" is corny, but i can live with it. "genuine buddy" = awful.

hmmmmmmm .... I like the name Buddy. That is one thing that caught my attention the 1st time ..... I actualy dont like using the "Genuine" name because when I say "It is a Genuine scooter" people hear it as "it is a real scooter" .... most of the time I have to say "Genuine is the brand name"

I did the type and had a local sign shop run them out.
If you want the "Italia 150" art file I can email it to you – just send me a message w/ your email address.
