Scooter Scavenger Hunt v.3 - Week One - Fast Food

Post by OKBubbles »

Your Scooter at the Drive-thru

Take your scoot out for a snack!

3 pts – your scooter in the drive thru lane of a fast-food restaurant. McDonalds, Taco Bell, In-‘n-Out, Chinese, etc. You know it when you see it.

+2 – you are ON THE SEAT of your scooter. Yes, you can straddle your stopped scooter.

+3 – you are being handed product through the take-out window by an employee of the restaurant. A bag, a cup, etc.

+2 – there is a vehicle in line behind you.

+1 – for each restaurant employee face at the window. Maximum of 5 employees. (This includes the employee actually handing you the product. In other words, the person handing you stuff is worth 4 points if we can see the face, not just an arm.)

This "assignment" will be open until midnight on Sunday, Oct. 19. That gives you 8 days -- 3 of them on a weekend -- to get the best photo possible.

At sailortot's suggestion, I'm including the following rules/instructions for those who are new to the hunt:

-A new photo subject added every Sunday. Participants will have until the following Sunday at midnight to post their pic (TAKEN THAT WEEK) .
-Only one photo may be submitted by each member for each week’s subject. (But if you get a better pic later in the week, PLEASE edit your original post to note that you posted a better pic and note in the newer post that it is a replacement for a previous pic. 0
-Old photos you have lying around can NOT be used- they must be NEW photos taken the week the photo subject was posted
-No Photoshop submissions
-Prize? Sure, if we can figure out a way to do that, but the real prize will be bragging rights & all the fun we all had. Also, it's become something of a tradition that the winner gets to be the huntmeister for the next round of photos.

(I took out the 10 pt. bonus for a photo of you receiving a ticket. It's my game this time around, and that's my decision. Please also note the extended time for submission.)

Enjoy!

hey okbubbles, i just thought of something. you may have forgotten or you may have chosen not to, but did you want to list the rules (for the people who have never played)?

easy for all of us to know them...we've been playing for 18+ weeks, but the newbies to the hunt probably have no clue what we're doing.

I've taken your suggestion and added the rules to my original post. I've made a couple of minor changes in the original rules -- just because I can!

Love the topic!
I suppose I should be upset, even feel violated, but I'm not. No, in fact, I think this is a friendly message, like "Hey, wanna play?" and yes I want to play. I really really do.

I could easily get a photo taken from the drive thru where I work, but I'm too lazy to get someone to come with me and take a picture. I wouldnt even have to pay for the food since I'm a employee. Heck, I could get 5 employee's standing by the window for extra points too if I wanted.

Hey, c'mon, you should do it! It would be a great photo. You can get one of the other employees to take the picture.

Thanks Polianarchy and OKBubbles! This was a fun one. My wife is in the car behind and my daughter took the picture. There was another car behind my wife, but it didn't get in the picture. You gals should post pictures too. Maybe OKBubbles can't win, being hunt mistress(?) and all, but I'd like to see her photos anyway. ScootLemont used to post them when he was hunt master.

Really! I hope the little unpleasantness at the beginning of the week hasn't soured anyone away from the Hunt. The Hunt is still the second best reason to own a scoot, in my opinion.

As for myself, I have a plan. And a backup plan. And if they fail I'll go 'round the corner and take yet another lousy pic just to submit something <grin>.

this one is a little tougher because you pretty much MUST have a 2nd person to take the photo - that might be why players are down so far...
but its a great subject & the pics that are in are cool so far

Me neither. I'm going to do coffee (well chai tea technically) for mine, I imagine that would be acceptable.

I do agree that pics a rider can do alone will get more hits :)

I went out today with my son's Kymco RV250 because I took my daughter to an appointment. She loves riding on the scoot and the 250 is better for 2-up riding. I still like my St Tropez better, though.
I saw someone ride by on an Italia while we scouting for the shot!

WOOT!

I believe this is 9 points!

Hey Beck look at you with those knee pads! That's a great bike/jacket combo on you.

Aaaaah now I understand why y'all need modular helmets! It's not about the ventilation. It's about how impossible it is to drink a coffee at a stop light. I know because I try to do it all the time, and can't do it easily, even with a straw.

Great photos, everybody! You still have until Sunday, Oct. 19 at midnight to post for the Fast Food Drive-Thru category.

I'll put up the new category first thing tomorrow (Sunday) morning, so you could possibly post two pictures on the same day!

Thanks to all who are playing.

Thanks! Yeah I protect my knees now. I will probably have a scar on my right knee forever from my little crash and I don't really want to shatter my knee cap if it happens again o_O

I actually had a guy roll down his window at a stop light to compliment my matching :P When I was about to buy my scoot, I kept flip flopping between blue and seafoam. The abundance of blue gear was a deciding factor :P

Just a reminder -- You still have until midnight tonight to take part in this week's hunt.

Also, it's not ABSOLUTELY necessary to have someone else take your picture. You can stop your scooter in the lane, with a car behind it, have a couple of the employees peek out the window -- voila, 7 points!

Happy Hunting!

Scooter Fast Food in Ashland Oregon!

Post by MiguelATF »

Well, first of all, I just want to thank OK Bubbles for changing the time to run the Scavenger Hunt through Sunday - it's nice having an extra day to get a photo together, I think this is a good move....so - Gracias!

Now....time for my Scooter to have some fast food in Ashland, Oregon. We decided to get a Spicy Soft Chicken Taco at the local Taco Bell - and the employees, who are definitely scooter-friendly, all wanted to participate and shout out an Oregon Buenos Dias so the results....were quite cool

Here is the picture - with the following scoring -

My scooter in the drive-thru lane of a Fast Food place - 3 Points

Being on the Seat of my scooter - an additional 2 Points

Being handed a product (a spicy chicken taco!) through the take-out window by a Taco Bell employee - another 3 points

Having a vehicle in the lane behind me - that's 2 more points...

And bonus points for Each employee face at the window - is an additonal 4 points (one of the smiling faces is the acting Manager who echoed the sentiments of her coworkers that Scooters + Fast Food = Fun!)...

For a Grand Total of..... (drum roll please....Ta-Daaa!) 14 Points!

Have to go eat my Spicy Taco now.....Mmmmmmmm!

Hasta luego, Scooteristas!

-Miguel
