[NSR] halloween costumes!

Post by r0sa »

what's everybody dressing up as for halloween? if you are celebrating that is.

i think im dressing up as a yellow m&m,
does trick or treating at age 20 count as cheating? 8)

I did a full on zombie for a party last weekend, and there were ironically 3 M&M's there [a family]. By sheer numbers pirates seem to be the "in" costume this year.

It's only cheating if the candy givers can tell how old you are :D

I'll be going as the guy on the left.
I suppose I should be upset, even feel violated, but I'm not. No, in fact, I think this is a friendly message, like "Hey, wanna play?" and yes I want to play. I really really do.

Yeah, I wish pirates wern't so popular. I've been doing the pirate thing for years, and I keep having to step up my costume to keep ahead of the crowd :)

I was just going to wear my jacket and helmet/gloves to pass candy out on my scooter, then I realized trick or treat night is tonight and I work until 8pm, which just so happens to be the end of trick or treating time.....

We're gonna be the Candy Corn family. I crocheted little candy corn sweaters for our Littles (we also have Bigs) and we're wearing yellow pants, orange sweaters and white hats. Have the whole set up on the driveway - chairs round the firepit, big bowl of candy...keeps kids from trampling our flower beds on the way to the front door.

See Candy corn Littles in the pic below...

My family goes ALL OUT. We have a big yard haunt, and this year it's theme is Haunted Tiki Island. We all get together throughout the year to plan everthing out and make all of our props. I'm sure people think that we are nuts, but it's an excuse to get together and do crafty stuff.
Here is a link to a few of the props and stuff we have for this year ->

I didn't have time to make a good costume, so [as usual] I will be frantically throwing one together tonight. I'm attempting a robot since it should be relatively simple. We are having a scooter ride tomorrow, so I will be sure to get some pictures.

Is having a bonfire during the day super lame? oh well, we're doing it anyway.

I'm not feeling into Halloween this year. I might wear a dirndl I have laying around if there's a party worth going to.

I'm more excited about the Dia de los Muertos All Souls Procession and I should have a good costume for that :)

I get off work at 4:30, pick up my daughter at 5, have to pick up my wife at 6, and then have to be to my 2nd job at 8 so no time for me to dress up this year.

Maybe I could pass myself off as a respectable adult?

Brilliant! I plan on giving that costume a try half-way through the day tomorrow as Rhode Island is getting its first Trader Joe's!

I've got a party on Saturday to attend and I am still not sure what I want to do. I am thinking I may just put on all my scooter gear and go as a scooter dood.

I'd love to do the zombie thing, but requires way more effort than I am willing to put in. I did the full-on-effort thing a few years ago when I dressed as a ****** ******. That was a pain.

Took a solid 3hrs of sifting through thrift store racks till that Purrfekt CCL sweater was found. Well worth the effort. The costume was very much a tongue-in-cheek joke since she does have 5 cats :)

Exactly. 10am yesterday and I saw a sexy pirate at Target. It was way too early to be dressed like that. Maybe the strip joints were doing a Halloween brunch.

I wore a Men's 3 XL Black Sweat shirt with a huge red hourglass on the front and 36 inch long dangling legs attached to the sides The back was totally overstuffed. I was quite a sight scooting through town with my spider legs dangling in the breeze! My children were mortified!!! TOUGH!!
