I did, are you sure that's a scooter? I didn't see the movie, but it looked to me like a crotch rocket.chicagoscooterclub wrote:James T. Kirk (Star Trek) in the bootlegged trailer you see him riding a scooter, what could be a futuristic Piaggio MP3 500.
Obviously, I am using the term Mod in the broadest interpretation as scooter rider.
Did you watch the video?
I have to say, thats the first time I heard MP3 rider referered to as a mod

I think it was a scooter.....
Here's how I look at the whole Mod thing and I know purist and even some non-purist will complete disagree with me but that's cool.
Mods or Modernist were all about new things, New music, new fashions, and scooters. Given the choices in scooters today if the Mod scene were a today scene and not a 1960's scene the scooters would be all flavors. I mean in the 60's the scooter were brand new to them, retro or vintage for them was not Mod.
I do realize that there is more of a lifestyle aspect than just the scooter and again I used the term Mod loosely.
Until proven otherwise I am going view one of my favorite sci-fi characters as a Mod...er..uh..um.. a scooter rider..er.aa..a..scooterist.

Well maybe on the bike/scoot (I'm sure that it's some sort of m-cycle, they would NEVER get that creative with the storyline), but the tight jacket/short hair COULD equal some of modernist. Of course modernist then would be post-retro-modernist now, or would it?
Still, it's going to be an awesome flick. Can't wait.

Went to the new Bond movie last night and saw that trailer. My 16 yr. old son was quite embarrased by his dad sitting next to him say "oh my God, oh my God, oh my God...." I wanted to stand up at the end of the trailer and shout "PLAY IT AGAIN!" My wife giggled, but I know she is as stoked to see that as I am. MAY 9th 2009 BABY!

Not a scooter. Clearly a tank in the front.thehypercube wrote:I am 100% certain this is not a scooter. Sorrychicagoscooterclub wrote:

Trailer looks great, though. Zachary Quinto has young Spock down without doing an imitation. Kirk… Well, that's a pretty tough one.
