It's not a Buddy, but it's a scoot. If a Red Fiddle II counts, add $2600 to the total.

Construction just began today on an attached garage just for my two scooters. I put $1,000 down, and will pay the remaining $3,200 on completion, probably before New Year's Day.

i bought an outdoor research windstopper balaclava, not specifically for wearing under my helmet, more for just general winter usage, but it'll definitely get some usage once the snow and slush go away. :) i paid $16.30, including tax.

oh, i also bought some outdoor research powerliners base gloves to wear under my winter riding gloves. cost: $10.85, including tax.

both items were 1/2 price at my local, independently-owned outdoor store.

so grand total of $27.15 to add to the tally.

did you know that for every $100 you spend at a neighborhood store, $45 of it goes right back into the community. compare that with $100 spent at a big corporate store, where only $13 goes back to the community.

A 2 scooter garage? I am green. Will it have a separate door for each scoot? That would be awesome!

Spend-a-thon

Syd, no...just one overhead door with a remote opener to mount on each scooter. The structure will be 8'Wx8'Dx10"H, attached to the existing 2-car garage, and will be stuccoed to match the house. The builder showed up the day before Christmas, and got all the framing and sheathing done. Today is rainy and windy, so I assume no work will be done. I can hardly wait for it to be finished, so I can get my old pickup truck back in the garage, rather than decorating the driveway with it.

Peter, ok, I'm a little less green now. But watch out how you mount the remotes. Mine rides on the stem of one of the DOT blinkers and I have maybe riuned one by getting it wet riding in the rain (who'da thunk you could ride in rain in Phoenix?).

Add another $7.99 for a Fleece Neck Warmer.

Contrary to popular belief, those sunrise rides do get a bit cold on the
neck here in Pensacola a couple 'o days a year. :o

If gift certificates are allowed I bought a new pair of Scorpion EXO gloves. They're my 'winter' gloves. They're still perferated, but they don't have the mesh on the palm. And each layer is perferated seperatley so the holes don't match up. Also they're leather so hopefully the heat will hold in better.

They cost 49.63.

Unfortunately I'll be buying a few new things once my insurance settlement check comes in. But that's next week :(

Oh well, maybe next year.
