FIRST D.C.S.C. Ride of 2009!

The Duke City Scooter Club is planning another ride for Sunday, January 11, 2009. This ride will meet at Vespa ABQ (1220 S. Renaissance Blvd NE) at 11:00am for a meet and greet, the ride will then leave at 11:30ish.

This ride is open to all scooters from Modern & Vintage Vespas, Piaggios, Hondas, Yamahas, Stellas, Lambrettas, PGO, Genuine Scooters, Mopeds, Kymcos, Bajaj, Sym scooters and mopeds are also definitely welcome!!!!!

We will ride south on Comanche (behind Vespa ABQ) then north along Rio Grande to Alameda Blvd, returning toward downtown Albuquerque via Rio Grande with the ride ending at Kellys Brew Pub for snacks & liquid refreshments for those over 21.

I will be planning more rides over the next few weeks so please keep an eye out!

RIDE WARM & HAPPY!

Fine Print

Due to the variable and possibly distant destinations; some of the rides are only open to bikes and riders that can ride maintain 45+ miles per hour nominal.

As always, be prepared…

Bring what you feel is appropriate cold weather gear AND remember that riding in cold weather is even more dangerous than riding in warm weather, don’t ride outside your comfort level or take unnecessary risks!

For safety…

Always be sure to start the ride on a FULL tank of gas (ha-ha!), check your tire pressure and tread wear! Have your bikes tool kit handy, Got oil for your 2-stroke? A spare tire if possible, a roll of Duct Tape ® (lights can and do fall off!) & bring a cell phone and the phone number of your Road Side Assistance Program!!

You should also Google "motorcycle hand signals" just to familiarize yourself with them.
