Alley Cat Results

Post by lau7renharp »

My, what a great, "Big DRY One" we had! Here are the results from Saturday's Alley Cat Ride:

Finishers:
6th place: Dave, 45 points
5th place: Carolyn, Jack, and Dan (3-way tie), 75 points
4th place: Bob, 80 points

And congratulations to the "winners:"
3rd place: Arne, 95 points ($5 prize)
2nd place: Jordan, 100 points ($20 prize)
1st place WINNER: Ryan, 110 points ($40 prize)

If you missed the Alley Cat Ride but would like to enjoy the Alley Cat "World Peace" experience, here's your "to do" list:
- Make an origami peace crane at the Garden House Cafe, Clement Street & 32nd Avenue.
- Visit the Museum of African Diaspora on Mission St., near SF MOMA.
- Check out the sculpture and mosaic by Benny Bufano in Fort Mason Park.
- Go inside the Peace Pagoda in Japantown, and look up at the ladder above.
- Ride the elevator to the sixth floor of the Main Library and look at the photos of Afghanistan during peacetime.
- In Yerba Buena Gardens, read the engraved panels behind the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial.
- Sit on a bench below the statue that is hidden behind the Ferry Building.
- Walk around the George Segal Holocaust Memorial--down the steps, and up again--near the Palace of the Legion of Honor.
- Find "the Goddess of Democracy" in Portsmouth Square.
- Enjoy the murals along Balmy Alley.

With peace and goodwill to all,
