SSR: unexpected benefits of riding gear

Post by Cheshire »

Off the scoot: what kind of things have you really liked having gear for?

I had just ridden over to a friend's house to help them move some stuff around. Still had my riding pants on (I don't take 'em off unless I'm going to be off the scoot for at least an hour), and ended up having to be on my knees on concrete. LOVE that knee padding!!

Another incident: recently, a tickle fight broke out around me. I'm extremely ticklish...that armored jacket practically zipped itself! After that, it was much easier to fend off other people.

I wore the waterproof liner from my Joe Rocket jacket when I went snowboarding yesterday...worked awesome! I could've used those armored pants, my knees and butt are pretty bruised

My insulated gloves are my general all around insulated gloves now - they just fit and work better than my old ski gloves. Not sure what really makes them all that different other than the scooter ones came from a motorcycle store ...

I wear my full face helmet around the house, you can never be too sure when the wife or kid might try and bash you in the head with something.

The kevlar armor in the jacket is nice too since I work downtown.
