No joy - help with de-winterizing my Black Cat

Post by coffeebrown »

Well, for the last two weekends I have been trying to de-winterize my Black Cat. It starts fine but after idling for a while, it just shuts off. I can only keep it running if I hold the throttle open.

I put Stabil in the tank and kept it in a heated garage all winter and I put a little Seafoam in the tank when I started the de-winterizing process. I adjusted the idle - same problem. It still just keeps shutting off. I tried to take it out for a longer ride to run out some of the old gas but it shuts off at every stop sign/intersection I hit so that didn't work very well.

ANY ideas?????

it's not the idle you need to adjust it's the air/fuel mixture screw that needs tweaking till you get the old gas out.

you gotta pull the seat to see it, or drill a hole
