Pink Buddy Makeover in Progress

Post by OScoot! »

OK, so I finally took the plunge. The Pinkster is undergoing a slight "de-pinking". I'm gonna go for the black panels that Angela and Vanessa have on their pink scoots. I think it looks so cool. But I'm going to try painting first rather than buying new black panels. If this doesn't work out, then I guess I'll have to splurge for new black panels.

Anyway....here we go .... here she is....looking rather like a skeleton with all her pink panels stripped off her body!

Image

All her screws are taped to notes to tell me how to put her back together again!

Image

And here are all her newly painted panels....drying while she awaits her new "look".

Hopefully she'll go back together easily enough next weekend and I'll be able to proudly show off the Pinkster with her new look!

You can take whichever you want. As long as you pay for it!

All Done

Post by OScoot! »

Well, she's all done. The good news is.....I'm pleased with the results. I think she looks just fine. The bad news is......in spite of my meticulous screw labeling efforts, I managed to put her back together with ... ahem....9 screws left over!

My best guess is ... while those little critters were taped together, they must have reproduced! How else could I have missed NINE holes!!!

Geez.....short of taking her all apart again, oh my! What to do? She seems to be firmly held together.

EDIT FRIDAY MORNING: Whooo Hooo! Found holes for 8 of my 9 "extra" screws! I think I can live with one unattached screw. Now, it's time to go for a ride. It's a beautiful spring day in the city....temps in the 70's....sunshine....and lots of pollen  Oh well, you can't have it all! But the Budnette and I are off in search of adventure! BBL.

Wow, nine is an awful lot of screws to be missing... you should prolly take it back apart.

LOOKS GOOD THO!!! :D

You should paint your rear shock spring hot pink instead of red. Then put hot pink and black stripes on the panels. 8)

Men dont need 9 screws to hold a buddy. Just a flannel shirt, and the will to take on the world with his bare fists.

I ended up with three extra screws after taking mine apart...I also thought about labeling the screws when disassembling but decided it couldn't be that hard to figure out where they went...boy was I wrong.

Well, after I pulled it apart again....I found all of them but one. So I don't feel too bad! And yeah.....there's a LOT of screws! And many of them are "hiding" from view.

I would definitely recommend some system of labeling so that you know where they go back! there's too many for my feeble memory.

I just put the screws in a pile and then reassemble, I have never had extra. I did magically lose one yesterday though

I will!

I am waiting until the entire scooter is done before I post pics. I once again changed my mind on the seat design so boyfriend has to start over again making it :? . I don't want to post pics with it partially done. The wheel painting will be last since That is a lot of work taking the tires off, going to the shop getting them dismounted, blah blah blah.
