Show your 2-tone switched body panel pics...?

Post by Drumwoulf »

Anyone have pics of switched body panel colors on their Buddy?
Specificially I'm wondering how my creme '07 would look with different
2-tone colored body panels?
(And yes, I know already how the Pompanola looks..) :D

Pamplona creme and 06/07 creme are 2 different colors actually, but very similar. The older creme bikes had a metal flake sparkly finish, while the new creme on the pamplona is just glossy, no sparkles.

Creme special...

Post by Drumwoulf »

Here's how mine looks now. Not too bad, I think, with reflective pin-striping, a windshield, and extra wide mirrors, eh?
Also has a Silver Star 55/65w headlight bulb, and soon will get a YSS rear shock update.
Been thinking about changing her appearance, or getting something new, but perhaps I should just proceed slowly with my current modification pace?
Because who knows what this little beast will look like a few years from now, hmmmm?

(But I also gotta admit; I'm fascinated by the idea of a new 4-stroke Stella in 2010. Just hafta wait and see, I guess...)

Very nice! Is that chrome trim car door edging? -A nice application for it...
I especially get a kick out of the "happy face" under the seat; were you looking for that effect? :)

Where did get the orange engine cover insert? That looks really great. Did you paint it? Seeing yours was making me wonder if I could use the light blue piece from an Italia. So many things to buy, so little... money.

I ordered it from scooter works, who had it in stock. It's the piece from the old sunset orange buddy. I replaced the orange grill piece with the black piece.

Although I think it looks good, my mind will not stop with different color combos for panels. They are relatively cheap. So, who knows what I will do.

I have no patience or skill at painting. Thank god for easy panel replacements.

you already added the red wheels... thats as good as you need to go unless there is an unfortunate event of you scraping your panels.... then change em!

Sigh, I am *still* waiting for a black interior. All them totaled bikes 'round here don't wanna trade (or sell 'em to me cheep)! For all this time spent, I could have taken a wide-tip Marks*A*Lot to my own panels, harrumph.

I just got my panels in today. Changing out the front lower cover was more of a pain than I thought it would be, but it's worth it. Behold the She-Beast, aka the dark Italia:) Now I need the BlackJack seat and the stage 1 kit.

why don't you just paint them? I finally decided to give it a try and was very pleased with my results. I posted a pic on this thread. about half way down the page.

I have nowhere to spraypaint -- even my back alley is well-traveled. I've actually considered using a paintbrush. Shouldn't make TOO MUCH of a mess in my apartment, right?

Yes! I'm trying to, anyway. I've been trying to do this since day one, back in December 2006. *headdesk*

Ooh this thread is good!

My only problem with my Sunset Orange is the weird interior color, it is like they tried to come close to orange-any orange- and made something passable, but not attractive.

How much of a PITA is it to do something about the interiors of these things? It seems to me like it would be a lot harder than swapping out body panels... I would dearly love to use the lovely olive color and have the body be sunset, the interior be olive and the seat and grips be brown.
