By first year Buddy owners, do you mean 2006 Buddys?

I've only been on MB for like 500 days, I'm still a n00b.

Heh, that kinda makes me chuckle, old scool being 4 years old :)

Its true though, I don't often see people here with an '06 Buddy. Though there was a lady with one on our last ride.

I like my 06 but I do wish it did have a bigger light. I do alot of riding in the evening and dusk so I have to WATCH OUT for DEER. Big time. A bigger light would sure help.

I thought Polianarchy has an '06 pink Buddy, and wasn't the black and silver an '06 color too? :?:

Don't forget me. Original '06 black n silver owner and 1st year modernbuddy member too. Still prefer the smaller headlight look over the larger ones.

Yep, I'm still here, still riding my small headlight, black and silver 2006 Buddy.

I'm not going to add up the days I've been here because it might involve some algebra and there's a good chance that the total might be different tomorrow.

I joined June 20th, 2006. I'm member #66

I was washing the Buddy today and thinking, "Oh, now that they have a white Buddy, I could totally get a white headset, legshield and fenders, do a cool pink & white thing…" Then I remembered we have an '06 and the headset piece won't fit. :(

Still, Model Year 1 Buddys rule. We were hardcore back then with our little headlights and weaker brake lights. 12v outlets—pshaw! Who needs 'em?

I'll be honest, I never use the outlet.

But I love the bigger headlight. When I was getting mine I had a nightmare they sent it to me and it had the '06 headlight and I was
so upset! I called them the next day to make sure that didn't happen. No offense to '06-ers, I just like the bigger one.

I have the 06 buddy but got it in 07. I don't really notice the smaller headlight thing, but that's what I am used to. (especially when the the other scoot is a P 200)

Yep, I'm still around too with my 2006 Sunset Bud. Traded my 04 Mojito 50 for it at the tail end of the 06 season. With my short commute and mostly city riding, I still have less than 5000 miles on it, but they've been completely trouble free except for loose battery terminals.

I think a lot of us are still around but I, for one, post much less than I used to. It's just how forums work.

Oh, and post-2006 Buddys do have dis-proportionally large (some might say freakishly large) headlights.

I do wish I had the power outlet though...

They're actually not all that hard to install. I put one in my LX. Less that $20 in parts, etc.

Very true Eric. But, if I do decide to install a radar detector on my bikes (including the Buddy), I'll probably just hard-wire it instead. A pre-installed outlet would've saved me a few minutes and a few bucks, that's all.
