Brake Light Problem

Post by Howardr »

My brake light goes on when I use the rear brake pedal, but not when I use the front brake. Any suggestions on what I should look for?

This is what you need:

It is really easy to fix. If you look at the brake handle, you will see where a wire is running into it in front of the master cylinder and is covered with a rubber tubing. Pull the tubing off and pull out the two wires, then unscrew the switch. Replace with the switch above and reconnect the wires.

But before you do that, just take the switch out and play with it a bit. Sometimes it gets filled up with some grime and you just need to work it out and it can be fixed. Mine could not be fixed and I just threw the new switch on and everything was perfect.

Total time taken to fix = 3 minutes.
