Need a new muffler

Post by BlueMark »

My scooter is getting pretty loud, and I'm not a kid who likes noise - I'm trying to be a good neighbor.

When it was new, most people loved the deep low rumble of the exhaust - it sounded great, but wasn't loud in the lower RPM ranges.

Not anymore.

I pulled it off and inspected it - some corrosion under the paint, but no holes, voids, or bad welds to be repaired with J-B Weld. The damage must be internal.

I have a call into my dealer about getting an OEM replacement. OEM muffler replacement is $175, but it turns out my muffler is fine.

Any word yet on aftermarket exhaust for the Blur? Any reason standard 150 aftermarket exhausts couldn't be used? How about the 125 Prima pipe?

Turns out my muffler and pipes are fine. Looks like my problem is the gasket between the exhaust port and header pipe.
