Get your parts from buggypartsnw.com, they sell parts for gy6 engines, which is what the buddy is based off of.

Get the Dr pulley variator for $90, and sliders for $25. Maybe some springs for your clutch too.

You'll notice instant performance when you upgrade the sliders and variator.

Any reason not to buy this variator? Kaos said that 115mm should fit. It's about 60% of the price of a Dr. Pulley. Comments?

It might only be an upgrade to questionably cast stock variators. The stock PGO variator is likely just as good as that one if not better (although not as shiny). There's no manufacturing company on it, so I'd be wary.

Short answer, unless you feel like taking a gamble (which could pay off) I'd skip it.

So I'm torn and looking for opinions on which way to go to upgrade my Buddy. I can get the Dr. Pulley performance package from buggypartsnw (http://www.buggypartsnw.com/home?page=s ... gory_id=12) and add a kevlar belt, 1500 RPM clutch springs, and shop for a clutch elsewhere, or buy the super transmission set from ScooterWorks: http://www.scooterworks.com/NCY_Super_T ... _P6692.cfm and basically call it done.

LMC, I know you have an opinion on the super transmission kit (I read your post). Opinions? Comments? Suggestions?

I only have 5,500 on my Buddy and it performs fine stock. However, I would like a little higher top end. The transmission is starting to act up a little (probably needs a cleaning and the rollers replaced). If I am going to get in there to clean it, I may as well upgrade at the same time.

Hey, I'm looking at this CDI/coil that has been recommended but it has the following in the description:

Fit to Honda GY6 125 150cc scooter engine and China Cloned GY6 152 QMI 157QMJ

will not fit to ( will burn out) 1P52QMI / P152QMI 1P57QMJ / P157QMJ

you can check the engine number
make sure the engine model

also not for scooter model year after 2007 (include)
the CDI size 38mm*22mm*64mm
if your CDI bigger than this size also not for your scooter.

Is this OK for a 2008 International 150?

I used that same coil and CDI in my '08 Buddy 125 for a long time with no issues, you'll be fine.

Gosh, thanks. I've never heard of them.
Pardon the return sarcasm (only meant in good fun) but it doesn't answer my question.

Tocsik,
Got the sarcasm. Big fan. The link was actually to their site with the massive banner ad re: the big bore kit for $119, today only.
