Why does my clutch "grab"?

Post by skyjumper »

Every once in while the clutch will grab no matter how careful I am easing out the lever. All of the sudden BAM!!!!!!!!!!. It seems to do it only when it's cold and not all the time. And well, sometimes it does it when it's warmed up too.
I've done a search but came up with nothing.

Kinked cable? Try pulling the cable and checking for kinks/frayed bits? Put some grease on the cable when you run it back it. :?:

its a wet clutch, so make sure you have the oil filled up to the proper level and use the right oil. Cable adjusted correctly etc. If this does not help it then...

If your plates are warped or the corks are worn, it will be grabby.

also if the basket gets worn it causes the plates to shift and become grabby.

also if the corks dry out or are not properly saturated, it will be grabby

this is a worn clutch scenario, I am not trying to get you into a tail spin thinking its all fucked up.
