I'm 6'1" and 250. I know what you mean, however, I have found that if I turn my shoulders just a little bit, that i can see behind me pretty well. I am looking for some replacement mirrors, but it's not that bad.

I don't like bar-ends (they vibrate way too much, they're hard to see, and they take up a lot of room in the garage, ha), and legshield mirrors are pretty much useless.
Try adjusting the angle of your mirrors, don't bend the stem, just loosen the nut on the bottom and rotate them at the base, a lot of shops just throw them on and don't really adjust them properly. just a couple degrees can make a huge difference.
