Depends on the scoot but usually 10% I.E. 65 = 59ish, 55 = 50ish

Confirmed via 3 different GPS units

well I just downloaded a gps speedometer on my smartphone and it says I was going 44mph when my speedo read 50mph so that would be 12% optimistic. Problem is I havn't been able to test the new gps based speedo against my car nor do I know how acurate my car speedo is but judging from the other traffic around me on the 45mph road I'd say it sounds about right.

Agreed. Going by speed a particular speed sign on my Buddy at 40 on the speedo shows 34-35mph on the sign.

Mine is 14 % optimistic. I round it to 15% for easy mental math.

My speedometer seems to get less accurate as I gain speed. I always take the GPS with me, attached to the windshield.

Buddy odometer is off too!

Post by rickko »

This isn't mentioned much but like the Buddy speedo is off in the 10-15% range, so is the odometer.

You can figure actual Buddy mileage to be about 10% less than what your odo reads.

Easily determined with a GPS that'll tell you how far you've traveled. Go 10 GPS miles and note the odo will read more than 10 miles traveled.
Ride it like you enjoy it!
