how far can i go?

Post by deserthealer »

i am going to finally buy a scooter after months of research and confusion. now i am still confused. Buddy125 seems like the right choice but now the Agility 125 is confusing me. which way to go? also, this will be my main form of transportation (250-300 miles per week). Lots of miles and the forums seem to say that scooters won't last that long without major overhaul. i don't want Buddy to spend his life in a mechanics arms and give mechanic lots of $. otherwise i'd just buy a honda(car) and go forever.
I'm done babbling. any thoughts, this is so new to me.

p.s. is liquid cooled better than air cooled? if so, is it worth the extra $$?
p.p.s. for those in AZ, is it worth a drive to tuscon rom phoenix?

now i'm really done :D

Well, both have good warranties. I don't know much about the Agility, or their dealers, though.

I guess if that's a major factor for you, you should consider which dealer you want to deal with more (if it's a case of different dealers).

I've put over 400 miles on my Buddy with just a a few weeks of ownership.

Nothin' seems to have gone retarded yet.

Also, I've gotten over 120 miles/tank. :D
Huh? What just happened?

THE BUDDY 125 IS A FOUR STROKE MOTOR.
IT WILL LAST MUCH LONGER THAN THE TWO STROKE MOTOR WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.
I HAVE A FRIEND WITH AN APRILIA 150 SCARABEO.
HE HAS OVER 60,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN THE MOTOR.

forgot to mention, if it matters, safety is #1 concern:

types of brakes, size of wheels, etc...

Thanks!

Kymco makes a really good scooter and they are a good company to deal with. We're only on day two of having the buddies, but we are expecting similar satisfaction from them. I would ride both and see which one feels better. Don't discount the flip-up back rest on the agility... it's a really nice feature.

The Agilities won't be available until mid to late September. The DOT shut down all shipments because the kill switch wasn't visible enough. Whatever. Anyway, I just went and bought the Buddy yesterday. Glad I did.

you can't get the Buddy at the Genuine dealer in PHX cause his showroom is shoved full of chinese crap and says he can't move those (doesn't realize it's cause they're Chinese Crap)so he won't order the Buddy. The folks down at ScootOver in Tucson are awesome!!!

WAY TO NAIL THE BUDDY, KEYS!!!! Can't wait to see it.
