My new Blur 220i

Post by ChitownDave »

Hello Fellow Blur owners,

I just bought a Blur 220i yesterday. I'm so excited!
It has 150 miles, oops 180 after the ride home. Gun metal.
My wife was looking for a Buddy for her when she saw this.
She knew I wanted more power than my 125 has, so she
suggested we go look at it. The man selling it is gettin
married and needs the cash.

I got a REALLY good deal.

The ride home was fun!

Any suggestions?

Congrats!!!

I love mine. Haven't done anything to it yet, but search for mods in this forum, a few people have some really cool ones if that's what you're into.

If you ever feel like it's too fast, or not orange enough, I'll trade you for my 150, ha. Hope to see you around!

:D all over that, 10-4.
I need to add them to my, hhmm, my wifes buddy too.
I have already looked, and I'm planning the purchase and install.

I was surprised that Blur came with regular, not L.E.D. tail light.
Can I convert brake light to LED?

THANKS

Suggestions?

Add the windshield. It is small and doesn't shield your face, but it will noticeably increase your top speed and improve mileage (based on my experience on the 150).

For safety, look into installing a headlight modulator, and modulated running lights in back if your state allows that. I really like the look of the gunmetal body up close, but it is dark, so try to improve your visibility on the road - add LED lights along the body if that is legal in IL, and wear a light (even florescent) jacket and helmet.

Install an alarm system. LoJack if you can afford it. The long New York Noose from Kryptonite, or its equivalent, is the most versatile locking system I can think of for securing a bike out in the wild. The idea is not to be in fear of losing it, but to take steps to allow you to enjoy the bike without as much worry. A bike you keep locked and chained in the garage under a tarp isn't as much fun as one you ride often.

Thanks Bluemark,
As soon as I arrived home I contacted Alfredo at Scooter works chicago, their warehouse is about a mile away from me. It's on back order, arrives in about 3 weeks. What are you referring to when you recommend modulated headlight?

Thanks for suggestions, the alarm sounds good too.

Windshield
Running lights
Alarm
Lock
13.5 grm sliders :)

Please tell me more.

A headlight modulator is a safety device that makes your daytime headlight rapidly cycle through dim and bright states - by law they do not work at night. Reportedly they make your bike 200% more noticeable to motorists.

Just be aware that a modulated headlight is illegal in many states. And, its not a little thing like non-DOT turn signals. In Md. you will get jacked for a modulated headlight.
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?

Under federal law, headlight modulators are legal in all 50 states, but that doesn't mean every cop knows the law.
