Termoscud Takeaway
These look like they are not as restrictive as the termoscud.
The Takeaway look like they are easy on and easy off; small photo lower left hand corner.

There could already be a pattern available for these in a pattern book.
Wonder if the material is thermal or if there is thinsulate under it?
- Universal thermal leg cover
- Totally independent. Is not fixed to vehicle
- Specifically designed to allow maximum freedom of movement, versatility and safety
- Maximum guarantee of safety
- Ergonomic cut eliminating the risk of flapping at higher speeds
- Much easier to put on than conventional over trousers
- Fully waterproof Polyester
- High grade thermal lining for extra warmth
- Taped seams
- Easily compactable for ease of storage
- Patented system

Quite a few places in the UK that carry these.
Gotta be one online store?

Doesn't look like there in stock at this place. But it's a start.

looks very similar in pattern for these wrap around pants my mom had in the 70s. (and me and the sisters ninja-ed in high school) they were sooooo easy to make, it was pathetic. not good for windy days, but if you're making a winter pair of anything you don't want totally open outer seams. i think a long industrial zipper and velco would suffice. heres a bad paint sketch:
I would tackle this adaptation with fleece or microfleece on the inside, then maybe a corduroy outside to hold warmth in as well. Snaps to the outer seam instead of a zipper would be less warm, but easier to put on / take off.
Now what just occured to me, is the easy of moving those pesky outer open seams to the middle. Sew the pink seam and instead cut the red dotty seam and add your zippers, snaps, velcro or whatever you prefer. I think i'll make me a pair come november.

Ooh, another possible addition to my velcro pants collection!
These are pretty cool, though may not provide as much coverage as a lap apron. On the other hand, less bulky, easier to manage.

Couldn't you just make a pair of snow pants into tear-away pants? That seems a lot easier to me.rickyd410 wrote:Mad props for finding this. Looks perfect.
I may even try making a pair of these. Seems like all you need to do is come up with the right pattern.
Anyone crafty with a sewing machine?

I may have to rip up my snow pants for this.

Ah, so you already saw this, then? Seriously NSFW,* BTW.ryder1 wrote:poli...the search for "tear-away" ...if so, I already did yesterday or day before for that and for 'break away'.
I'm ready to send for Corazzo (Cordura) fabric and start making myself a pair to match my Corazzo 5.0 jacket.
