Scooter covers that fit the Buddy.

Post by golfingirl »

I'm looking for suggestions on what brand of scooter cover to get. I have a rack with top box on my buddy so now my old scooter cover doesn't fit. I want a really good quality one as I leave it outside all the time. I also want one that has an elasticized bottom.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Laura

I use a Stella cover. They now make Buddy scooter covers also. Either would work, both should have an elastic bottom and room for a windscreen and topcase.

Buddy Covers

I also use a stella cover, which fits great, but am not real happy with it. It's not quite as waterproof as I would like. There seems to be a lot of heavy duty covers on ebay at much more reasonable prices.

What kind of fabric is that seat cover made of?

Does it get warm to sit on?

My scooter is kept inside so I don't have a complete scooter cover but I've heard there are various styles to choose from that fit the Buddy.

I just got it today. It is vinyl so it might be a little warm but it will dry faster than the regular seat. It's suppose to be in the low 80's in the afternoon tomorrow and I'm also planning a long ride Saturday. I'll post details on Sunday.

I keep mine outside but covered. In the mornings the seat is still a little damp feeling.

I have never seen one of those scooter covers before. Or maybe I have and just could not see it.

I use a Stella cover.

Is it easy to take on and off? Or do you ride with it on?

It is a slip-on cover with elastic sides with an underseat tie down. I ride with the cover on. It is a little slippery. It is easy to take off and on.

Also, you can order the matching hand covers.

I have Crystal make seatcovers for all my scooters. The tiger velour on the orange Buddy looks great. For entire scooter covers, I use a Dowco motorcycle cover.

 Oh yeah the topic was covers not seat covers. Motorsports actually suggested a BBQ cover. I bought a HD cover from Walmart. It's ok.

Since I don't have a garage I park my buddy in a Coleman 3 person tent. I feel like it deserves it.

Ah, heck! I misunderstood the OP.

I use a medium-sized VEGA motorcycle cover when I park all day at work. I discussed it here: viewtopic.php?t=1341

But anyway, I'm glad to know the pirate seat cover is easy to take on and off, because the plastic protective wrap that came with my seat is finally getting too ripped up to use when parking in the rain.

I decided to take off the seatcover except for rallies and show-off time. It's just too cool to leave on day-to-day commute. Plus, it is a little slippery.

Not serious, just messing with people since we got off topic. I am surprised I didn't get more comments about parking my buddy in a tent.

I'm surprised you DON'T park it in there and then sleep next to it in a coordinatingly-colored sleeping bag.

Thanks! That’s not a bad idea. I will have to work on finding an orange sleeping bag. I shall call it the tangerine dream!
