Scoot Out The Vote

Post by NathanielSalzman »

I'm hashtagging #ScootOutTheVote for ScooterFile on Twitter and Facebook today and looking for people to share photos of themselves and their scooters exercising their muscles of democracy today! Check it out at https://www.facebook.com/events/454588494591261/ or follow us on Twitter @ScooterFile. Maybe we could get this to trend!

I think this link should work to search the hashtag, whether you have a Twitter account and are logged in or not.

+ 1 on that link. Be sure to click "All" tweets. It defaults to "Top Tweets" when you land on the page.

I don't tweet. But I did vote and I did scoot to get there. Got my "I voted" sticker too.
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Rode my Stella to the polls but neglected to snap a pic.

Then rode it to the tavern after work to watch the returns come in.

Had a very nice burger. It had an egg on it.

Living in a swing state the phone calls were relentless. I started asking the callers to PLEASE sell me a timeshare!

When I went to vote on the way home from work (riding Burgman commuter) I had my helmet with me. The little old lady worker got a kick out of it when I stuck a "I Voted" sticker on it!

I'd already voted before this thread started, so no photo. But of course I rode the scooter to the polls! There's no snow on the ground... duh! :)

A little reminder to keep politics, even jokingly, off the forum. Some people are pretty worked up and emotional about the outcomes of this election. I'd rather not hear from them here.

I'm not touchy; I just don't want to hear any guff from people who are.

There was and is all kinds of stuff being reported on TV. This is still not the place for discussing it.

Scoot out the vote

Post by theflash784 »

I like those "I voted today" stickers. I have never seen those in my area. I thought about riding the scooter to the polling place but it was cold, damp and windy so I took the cage instead.

People love the stickers! I do, too. Everyone proudly wears them all day.

I don't remember getting stickers in Texas.

The nice senior citizen lady from the Red Cross always insists on slapping an I-gave-blood-today sticker on me. They're such sweethearts, it's hard to resist. Our grumpy election judges, on the other hand, practically growl out 'get yer own damn sticker off the roll'.

I always vote early using the mail-in ballot, so no sticker :(

Not only do I not get the street cred, I miss out on a bunch of sweet discount deals at bars and restos on election day. I should vote at the polling place next time and get swipe a roll of stickers.

Maybe your state does what AZ does. In AZ you can use your mail in ballot and just drop it off at the polling station. No muss, no fuss, no waiting, and an I Voted sticker. Best of both worlds.

Tags were due on the scoot a couple weeks ago, so took my 11 year old with me to renew them. While there remembered it was also an early voting location, so took care of that too. Tags, and voted all in under 15 minutes, and my son got to see process they are learning about in school.

And your vote *may* get counted a week after elections. Currently Arizona has over a half MILLION early-voter dropoff ballots, absentee ballots and provisional ballots that are not counted.

Btw, we need to fix that.
