Say hello to my Halloween Buddy! :-)

Post by sparty »

Just got my scooter back from the good folks at Tate Equipment, Horseheads NY. Got my oil changed and my interior panels swapped. I think it turned out ok. What do you think?

I missed two interior panels (hook and fuse cover?) so I guess I have to order them.... or show I leave it as is?[/img]

I think it looks great! And I don't think the orange rectangle NEEDS to be replaced.

How many hours did it take for them to remove and replace those panels?

They quote me about 7 hrs of labor. Please keep it mind that 1) This is their Buddy job and 2) I have to replace the interior panels plus the one in the lower handlebar. I also had to replace 5,6 orange panels scratched up from my crash a while ago. Not sure if it's too much/too little, but it's defintely better then if I did it myself and the end result is great!

If you have not done so, take the plastic cover off the seat. I have seen folks leave it on thinking it will act as protection. The hot sun can make the plastic melt to the seat, which makes for an ugly mess.

BTW: The two tone looks sweet.

I like it! Do you happen to have a total cost on the conversion panels so I can quote it to my customers?

Thanks for posting up the pictures. That looks way better than the orange/tan! (IMHO, of course)

Nice to see that it's not hugely expensive to exchange or replace those panels.

Mike, thanks for the advice about the plastic cover. I took it off after I took the pictures. Not sure why the shop guy left it on anyway....

Wow. You know what you should do? Send some pix of that to Genuine. No kidding! I don't know if you saw my post requesting that folks send photos of themselves and their scooters to

eric AT genuinescooters DOT com

Your scooter rocks. I have to believe they'd like to see that.

Plastic Seat Cover

Post by hangukhurley »

Hi,

I'm new to the message board. I just got my pink Buddy 125 two days ago.

I leave the plastic seat cover on when I'm not riding the scooter. I want to keep the white seat protected when not in use. I take the cover off when I ride, though, so I don't slide around on the seat.

Not sure if you guys can see it, but I moved my DOT turning signals closer to the center than default. I don't like them but am not willing to take them off.... so that's my little mod.

jrsjr, thanks for the comment. I was hoping that I will send them my picture after I got my top case/rack.. but who knows when that will be....

Black panels look great. Big improvement over stock color combo. i would toss the orange panel, however. Just one man's opinion.

Hangukhurley, if you can get the newest copy of Scoot! Quarterly, there is an ad in there for scooter covers AND a scooter SEAT cover so you don't have to deal with wet seats, or hot seats or, in your case, dirty seats. It just snaps on like a shower cap. Sorry, I left my issue at work or I'd give you a web-site...

Looks great!
I’m surprised Genuine Scooter doesn’t sell that combination.

I'm hoping they start selling "interior panel kits" in a variety of colors. Or maybe a 3rd party will step up and do so. There's already quite a demand.

But, of course, we'd all like to see Buddy accessories first.

Okay, here are the links for the "snap-on" seat covers so your seat won't get hot, wet or dirty; www.bagster.com and www.CoverAlls.biz.

Looks really good. Fans of the Bengals here in Cincinnati would love to see the black/orange combo. I think I'd go ahead and switch out the fuse cover and hook with black. I'd also love to see what it would look like with a black mud flap. Anyway, nice job with it. Anything to personalize your own buddy - go for it!

I actually really like the color combo, especially with the orange fuse panel and hook.

The only two potential changes I'd make: Change the aforementioned mudflap to the black one and paint the rear grab-handle black.

But even if you don't listen to any of our suggestions, you've got a totally kickin' scoot. 8)

I think I might have ordered a chrome rack ... back how many two weeks ago :( That's way before I decided to do the two-tone thing. so I should get a black one now?

The Cowboys would go crazy for it down here in Oklahoma too!

My Pink one is still in the shop after my little 'tumble" also changing out the inside panels and seat to black. I'll post pics when she's done and home. Haven't ridden in almost a month
