'06 Rattler 50 Question

Post by pickboy_101 »

Hey All,

I am still fairly new to the site- I actually found a Rattler 50 for sale today just down the street from where I live for $700, low miles, sounds a bit iffy and i will check it out. I have read enough posts about things to look for I feel pretty comfortable that I won't get duped. I was just curious though, the body style is more along the lines of the PGO style rather than the US RH and '09+ rattler that I really love. My question is (and it looks possible from where the screw mounts are in pictures) is it possible to get a new panel and light harness (genuine up'd the size of light I guess?) of a newer RH/rattler and put it on this model?

See attached pictures- has anyone done this?

I would bet so. You need to get a picture of the other side, like where your knees would be if you were riding it. Those are the screws that may be different...

Here are the back pictures (one the seller posted of his '06 and then I found this other of what looks like an R50 or rattler 110 with new panels) my computer at work won't open them simultaneously (lousy preview program) so I am posting these to compare as well.

looks pretty dang close, I guess my only question is about the light harness... here is a link that talks about differences in models and years etc...

Ya I cant really see the screws that well on the top picture. The top 4 are the only ones that are going to matter for that front piece of plastic, the bottom 4 hold on the rougher plastic on the bottom. I would guess they are interchangeable though. You could always call a dealer and they should be able to tell you everything you need to know...

If you end up swapping plastics, let me know. I'll buy your other ones. I'm up in Weber county area.

I ended up getting a buddy 125- sorry about that. this one sold pretty quick on KSL for $500 for the scoot- the wife just wasn't too excited about the look, but I love the RH and Rattler.

That is the same one that I looked at- same photos and everything. I offered the first guy $500 and he was going to take it (then the wife pulled the leash ha ha) so it sounds like this person is trying to flip it...
